I'm getting EFI Live tunes in roughly a week, my tuner has said that they calibrate my speedometer when they tune the truck and that if I need change tire sizes I'll need to go through them to re calibrate my speedo.

My question is, is there any way I can re calibrate my speedo myself?

Looking for something I can use to do it myself as my winter and summer tires are different sizes, and I would like to have a proper speedo reading year round

Autoenginuity software works great and I know a guy that rents it on a notebook for WAY less than the Hypertech. Shoot me a PM for details.

AlfaOBD should be able to set your tire size.

Hey Ritchie, bit delayed but quick question for ya. Are you using the hypertech on a stock truck or is your truck tuned?

You are correct, my bad. You could have the dealer reset it for you I believe
Dealers can only set to a tire size that came stock. They can't set to non-stock sizes.

Tuned on EFI Live
Do you have to go through the same process the third gen guys do? Where you flash on a stock tune, change tire size with the hypertech, and then reflash the EFI back on? Or are you able to just plug it in and change tire size without messing with the tune?

Imo you're best answer is to call Hypertech. If you do it wrong your Hypertech will only be good for a paper weight.

I am also using a hypertech calibrator and tuned with EFI live.

Load EFI live first then the hypertech calibrator, never had a problem.

You can change tire size without messing with the EFI tunes.

Cheers

I will more than likely give them a call, I just always like to have a good idea of what I'm talking about before I go calling companies

Appreciate that feedback! This is exactly what I was looking to figure out.

Will an edge insight cts2 allow changes in tire size?

The insight can display a corrected speedometer reading on it's display however it will not actually correct the tire size for the truck itself. So the edge will have a correct speed reading but your truck's speedometer and odometer will be off still

I used the Superchips Flashcal on my 2012 with EFI tunes. No problems at all.
