i just recently lifted my truck 6in + 37s (stock 3.73s)... the truck runs about 5 over 0-50mph and 10 over 50mph+

i called around to the local stealerships and the one i purchased the truck from was asking $30 to do reprogram the "pinion factor"

well they performed the work and the truck is still the same according to the Edge and GPS... so WTF???!! anyone??

also, does anyone know the formula to calculate miles traveled to make up for the tires + gears?? thanks...

If your GPS says 60 mph and your speedo says 50 mph, to figure out your miles, multiply what your odometer reads by 1.2 (60/50=1.2)

If I remember correctly, the dealership can only reprogram for tires sizes up to the largest that they would have installed from the factory, which I think they said was a 33.

It took me several months to get mine fixed. First, I bought a hypertech programmer, which the website said it was programmed to correct the speedo. Well, it wouldn't work...had to call them and apparently their programmer didn't come with this option for the Dodge's.

I eventually just bought me a Smarty. From what I found trying to find the answer...you're gonna have to spend around $250 for a superchip programmer that can only reprogram the speedo, or spend double that for a programmer that not only will correct your speedo, but also increase performance.

Good luck

06 and up rigs can only be reprogrammed to the largest stock tire size - 285/70/17, which is the stock power wagon size.....by the dealer starscan anyway.

Only aftermarket programmers like the smarty and superchips can change to any size tire....

find a friend with a smarty or smarty jr and have him reprogram your ecm with the right tire size. I did this for a friend, returned my truck to stock, loaded smarty on his truck changed speedo, returned his truck back to stock, loaded smarty back on my truck.
