Okey, my truck is a CA truck with EGR and stuff like that (180hp) BUT, someone has changed stuff inside the pump to make it to a 215hp pump okey? the earlier owner told me that, so i dont really know exactly what they have done to it, or if they have done anything at all?

Now im about to set the timing to 16*, and i wonder which CPL table i should follow at this page Diesel Timing

Can i measure the plungerlift in my pump in some way, so i can decide where to look at the timing page?

Please help me

Thats what I would try, basically check your timing stock and see what those plunger lift #s are and go from there. I would think it would be the 180 #s because I doubt they changed the cam in the pump, but to be perfectly honest im not that familiar with the internals... Hopefully this will give your post a BUMP so that someone smarter than me will help!!!!

goodie, but i dont know. Maybe the stock timing is moved? if it is, then you will not get the right numbers :(

Why you dont think that they have changed the cam?

if you turn the crank and stop exactly where the plunger hits its lowest position, then zero the gauge and continue turning the crank until the plunger hits its highest position then you get the total lift of the cam and maybe someone can tell me from that measurement witch pump i really have?

EDIT: hey guys, just looked at the timing page again. my stock timing is 14* so if they have changed the cam it would be 5.16, else it would be 4.53 and that is a huge step so im going to check the timing first, i cant get wrong cause 5.16 with the 180 pump would be way to much *

Your right, the two measurements are quite different so hopefully you can tell. I just doubt that they changed the cam cause that would be pretty expensive and require alot of work. Why wouldnt they have just bought a better pump? and also if they did all that work to the pump I would hope they would time it right then and there when they put the pump on, they have to get it timed to install the modded pump. Just thinkin out loud, im just speculating but let us know what the numbers are and see if we cant help you out

Your right too, they surely lied to me :(

Im gonna check it out when i got all the tools for set the timing, i only have the 32spline socket and a dialergauge now. going to make the others at work, but i havent any measurements of the gearpuller :(

just a question, you have the 3GSK, in which rpm does the pump start cut of fuel? which rpms are useful?
in a stock pump there is useful rpms up to around 2200, then it starts to cut of fuel from 2200 to 2700 then its dead

The 3gsk is nice it bumped mine to about 3200 useful rpms, but before mine fall right on its face at 2400! Youll like it!!!

To answer your question I think it is CPL Group 2174. Your engine meets the CPL ID of 2308, which had stock timing of 14.5 BTDC

Snap-on lists there bolt thread on their website. The puller only costs $30 and its snap-on so you know its quality. Just buy the puller and be done with it SP504, Puller, Gear

Yes i saw that, the bolts are not a problem anymore. Why buy something that i can make at work in about 20 minutes for free? I live in sweden, so its not as easy to buy as you think it is

ok the puller is 2.5 inches outside diameter, the inner part that steps in is about 1 3/4 inches. the widest part of the slotted holes is 2 1/8th inches, by 1 inch. overall thickness is 1/2 inch, and the inner step is about 1/4 inch. :peelout
