Anyone know where I can find a spare key for an '06 besides the dealer? It has the keyless entry built in. Just wanted to see if there was anything cheaper than the dealer available. Know how to program them when I do get one? Thanks

yep, dealer part. I replaced one of my laser cut transponder BMW keys last year. It cost me about $500...

I am sure the dodge key will be alot cheaper than that

eBay?

I thought that you could buy a somewhat down-priced one from eBay, then pay Dodge the $50 or whatever to program it.

None of ya'll have figured out how to bypass that crap yet, eh?

You can buy one on ebay. You do not have to pay them to program it either. You have to have 2 good keys for your truck first. You just need to buy one have someone cut it, then follow the instructions in the owners manual on adding another key.

Yep that's what I did. On the 07's the key fob is part of the key which makes the key huge. I got a chip only key from ebay, took it to my local ACE hardware had them cut it, then follow the directions in the manual (if you have two keys, or take it to the dealer to program if you only have one).

You also have the option of buying a grey key that has the chip but not the keyless entry. I bought one for a spare and the price was a fraction of the cost of the keyless entry version. It still needs to be programmed to the truck though.
