my buddy was telling me that with my new clutch i'm able to launch it in 3rd gear. i have the upgraded input shaft and hydro kit. i was just wondering if anybody here has launched there truck in third gear?

That clutch should take anything you through at it as long as you are under the rated hp. $-th gear shouldn't be a problem. Assuming you don't have like 54" boggers and 3.55 gears that is.....

wow thats awesome i was afraid i would break something by launching it in 3rd lol. ill try it once the clutch is broken in. (only 90 km on it) cant wait to launch it in 4wd eelout

3rd gear launches are NO problem with that clutch.

Just wondering ... Why did you upgrade your hydros with a 96? ... We already have the heavy duty hydros

I thought the bigger DDs required it? And 3600 is recomended. Is stock good enough?

When I ordered my 3600 from Peter ... He told me that my stock hydros in my 96 were exactly the same as the hd hydro kits that he has. From what he told me, the 98.5's and up NEED the hydro kit.

Double check with Peter to make sure they didn't change in it 98. Im pretty sure they changed when they switched to the 24 valves ... but double check with him

or at least look and make sure that the connection to the clutch pedal isnt plastic. that is the main weak point.
