I apologize in advance for adding another "idle video" to this wonderful forum. All the horror stories have gotten me a tad paranoid. I've heard "run her til she blows" or " if it ain't broke don't fix it". On the flip side you hear of guys who burn up pistons or worse and their motors never gave them any "signs"or so they say. I apologize for the crap video. The phone wouldn't adjust to the sunlight

The engine was still relatively cold, 120*. No hard starts, no excessive smoke of any color, only slight, slight dark haze for the first 10 seconds on start up. Oil level hasn't budged. Edge CTS, auto, 139k miles. 2nd owner. Bought it about a year ago at 130k. All stock prior to me getting it. Appears to be meticulously maintained. I appreciate your time.

Nothing out of the ordinary really and sounds like mine. But mine is still apart from fuel being dumped in the crankcase hahaha. I think your just being paranoid.

My 06 has the same sound. Overhead has been run, new injectors and tubes. Sounds the same as it did before. 30 year union diesel mechanic believes it could be a lifter noise. Says it is pecking too fast at idle for lower end ( cam turns twice as fast as crank ). His opinion is drive it unless noise changes or gets worse.
