the "light load" button on my truck, from what i assume its an OD kill for an automatic trans, but my truck has the G56, so does it serve a purpose that im not seeing?

It has nothing to do with the tranny. It is part of the tire pressure monitoring system.

so what does the light load button do, just turn off the TPMS so you dont get a light or what

It is indicating that you have chosen to run in the light load tire pressure levels since you are running empty. Those being 60 in front & 45 in the rear.
Look at the door sticker and you will see the light load pressures listed. :thumbsup:
By running the lower pressure in the rear, it gives you a softer ride.
