Diesel Stage 3 MPG-MAX Boost Cooler

New from Snow Performance is the only system proven to increase fuel economy in all load states – empty or while towing. Special mapping and the most sophisticated 2d digital controller available result in 1-3 MPG increases! The MPG-MAX™ system does not require a sustained high load state in order to provide maximum fuel economy gains. The MPG-MAX™ system uses a new injection management controller that allows for a small, steady spray of water/methanol to be injected across the entire power curve – even while in cruise. This provides an increase in combustion efficiency which provides more power without injecting more diesel fuel. This increase in efficiency translates into an increase in fuel economy. Typical fuel economy increases are 10%-15% or 1-3 MPG.

The MPG-MAX™ system has a secondary output that is used to activate a Power Mode. The more sophisticated microprocessor introduces a independently mapped second stage of injection. Larger nozzles are used to inject more fluid to make more power. The Power Mode activation point is adjustable for best performance. The net effect is smooth power in all engine load states with no combustion quench resulting in a true turn-on-and-forget system.

It also now has a brighter LCD screen that displays boost, EGTs, and injection pump output. This means a savings of $200-$300 in gauges you don’t have to buy.

• Will not adversely affect particulate matter filter like most other power adders
• Doesn’t leave a “signature” on vehicles computer so warranty isn’t jeopardized
• Comes complete with large 7 gal. reservoir for a truly complete system
• The most advanced system on the market – true 2d mapping and 2 nozzles controlled independently for smooth power – always
• The only system proven to improve fuel economy
• Provides better fuel economy (1-3 MPG), more power (70-100 HP), and lower EGTs (200°-300° F)
• Dash mounted module – displays real time – no need for gauges

Diesel Stage 3 MPG-MAX Boost Cooler upgrades are now available for customers with existing systems.

What about using a system like this Snow....in the snow? :) We get 20 below F regularly in our winters. I want the engine to warm, not cool, for max combustion efficiency in the winter. What is you recommendation: turn it off in winter? Only keep the max stage on if that's possible? TIA

Good questions. Ok, in the winter, you would be posed with the issue of an extremely cold intake charge, which you never heat up enough to get combustion temps in the efficient range. The water/meth would not be much use here, as its designed to reduce intake temps. The Methanol injection is designed to give a bit of extra power by igniting WITH the diesel fuel, increasing efficiency. The water is to cool the charge coming into the engine by evaporating and chemically lowering the intake temperature. So, in extreme cold, your charge temp coming out of your intercooler will not get to a high enough temp to properly evaporate the water, and the water would quench the combustion, causing stumbling, and possibly stalling. Also, you would probably have water pooling in the intake manifold on the head. The methanol will keep the water from freezing in the tank and lines, but you just won't build enough heat in the intake to make good use of the system.

In the winter, I would either drain the system and fill it with a gallon or so of anitfreeze to winterize the system and eliminate issues with your cold climate. Just leaving the water/meth combo in would not work well as the meth brakes down the water may freeze.

PM me a price on an 2005 CTD Injen Intake System.

Also a question. By looking at some pics of this set up. Looks like a tight fit to get to the filter. How do you get the filter out to clean?

Thanks!
