There is a very big thread on smoke switches. Two of them really. One is more towards second gens and the other is 3rd gen smoke switches. Let me try to find the thread for you.

Basically what it is is a switch that you can turn the signal on/off to the map sensor. With the signal off it will read full boost all the time and the computer fuels accordingly. No boost, but fueling like there is full boost = lots of smoke. Make sense?

Here you go:

This is the one for 3rd gens - http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/3...ts-discussion/51033-3rd-gen-smoke-switch.html

And this one is more in general. It works best if you have a fueling box but it will work on a stock truck. If you're stock you will lose power with the switch on unless you have some type of boost fooler.

Won't hurt anything. It's no different than adding more fuel than you can use with a programmer.

Now of course if you just roll smoke constantly then you might damage something, but using a switch to make the smoke is no worse than any other way.

And also even with the switch it wont smoke unless you're in the throttle heavily. It's doesn't just idle smoking or anything.
