buzzman im not sure search a little but farmboy i can help ya. i have a smoke switch on my truck with the edge. heres the best and simplest way to do it.

YouTube - Smoke Switch Install

now his wires are diff colors than ours but basically you tap into the edges map sensor wire the one that plugs into the engine. that plug has a signal wire and a green wire, tap into the signal then there are two black wires runnin from the edge map plug to the factory map plug ones a ground and the other is a 5v. tap into the 5v wire then run the two wires to a 2 pole on off switch doesnt matter which wire goes on wich pole. I know this sounds kind of difficult but its VERY easy to do the only problem i had when i did mine was that i accidentally tapped into the ground not the 5v (i couldnt tell them apart) but apparentally if you trace em back you can find which one is which but anyway i was stumped and kinda pissed but after askin around here thats when i figured it out. next day walked right out switched it to the other black wire (5v) flipped the switch, reved it good and watched the truck ROOOOOLLLL the coal it was pretty badass!

any other questions or advice just ask me or theres plenty of info and write ups on here!
good luck

1st step: Go down to your local feed store or who ever would carry this stuff-two wire taps, and about 10 feet of electrical wire, and a switch (like an on off switch so you can close the circuit to make it smoke and open, or disconect the circuit to turn off the smoke).

2nd step: I got the two taps and tapped into the Pink and yellow map sensor wires. I then took the wire that i had and cut it into two equal lenghts, hook one end of each wire upto the switch and then run one end of one wire to the pink tapped map sensor wire and the other to the yellow tapped map sensor wire.

Next just find a place to mount your switch in ur truck.
I hope that this will help you out, it worked good for me. I think that the map sensor wires should be the same on the 98' as the 00' but idk.
