Well guys i just put the smarty on the truck tonight and WOW!!! I dont even know how to describe how much i like it. It seems to pull harder than my edge Comp did at least down low!

The smoke is awesome!

The only thing is, I hope that my gauge is reading right and hope my Fuel Pressure isnt dropping. i cant fry another VP44.

Has anyone fried a VP with just the smarty?

While we all know the problems with the vp44, I honestly think you are worrying a little too much.

The Smarty is the **** for down low not to much for top end.The Smarty and adrenaline is a good stack.Put some injectors on there if you aint already got some,and watch the smarty come to life

Have you tried a stealth plate on a vp44? Comp and smarty stacked would amaze you.

Auto tranny's shift goofy with the smarty. Remember that on the higher levels, full throttle comes on at about 1/4 throttle position. you don't have to floor it to get full fuel.

Mike... Are you computer savey? I updated the smarty to a beta version I had that works great in my truck.

Try to download the latest version if you want, it may improve the shift points for you. The version I loaded rocks in my 02, every VP truck is different.

If it's worse I will email you the 7Zip file to put it back....

In a vp truck, with the current catcher tunes, I would say absolutely. if your trans is sensitive the 65hp and monster low end will let you know if you should back down.

Sorry i am new at this but what is a vp truck??? And my tranny has a billet converter and new valve body so it should handle the power

you posted in the 98.5 - 02 forum, that vintage truck was equipped with a 24Valve cummins that used a bosch vp44 injection pump..... "VP" truck ?

Oh yeah i have glacier fuel pump with 1/2 inch lines. I am getting 22 pounds fuel pressure.

In time you will realize it is a blessing and a curse.

They are fragile pumps with limitations, but at the same time when taken care of and supported you can make some serious ponnies at an affordable price.
