I have a 04.5 stock with a smarty Sr and auto tranny. I have No guages and will be makeing a 800 mile trip towing my Jeep this weekend to Harlan Co KY to go wheeling.... What level to tow with safely??? also whats the difference between the odds and even numbers? What does added timing do for me and a stock truck? Should I run added or not?

Thanks Guys!

go with the 30hp tune and let her eat.

the odd numbers give increased timing to help control EGT's. the even numbers have no timing for use with stacking.

you may could get away with the 60hp tune(#3) however I would be worried about slipping your stock auto through any mountains you may encounter.

The 30hp with timing will work great. You may be able to go with the 60hp with timing, but just be easy on that trans in the mountains.

Have you been to Harlan before? I ride there a lot and also plan on taking my Jeep over one day. Very nice park.

Mine is on 3 when I tow my Jeep to Rausch Creek. Too scared to go any higher with the stock tranny. I do have gauges and an air intake as well though.

First time to harlan! had a great time except for the broken Dana 44 u-joint and axle shaft. I put the smarty on #3 and rolled coal all the way down there and tried to stay in front of the other 4trucks towing for Mosquito Controll! Love that smoke!!!
they had their wipers on all the way down to clear the oil haze off their windshields! :peelout :rof

Thanks guys for the help!

Jeeper gone Diesel NICE! I have a beater CJ and since getting the Dually Mega Diesel its not so attractive to drive. I do want to tow my junk to the trails soon> I just don't have any room for a trailer!

I would like to get to Rausch Creek sometime this year no doubt. I have the smarty too and will be soon set up with the gauges and intake. I'm just taking it easy on 3 myself and sometimes five. I want to try out the economy setting too just to see what kind of mileage I can get. I just can't not enjoy the power of the CATCHER!

It would be sooooo cool to convoy with Cummins tow rigs and Jeeps! I'm in NY if you want to motivate me let me know...LOL:thumbsup
