smarty ssr vin locked
I've got a ssr that's vin locked.. was wondering if anyone knows how I might get it unlocked.

Yeh that sucks.. Previous owner needs to get the unit back, download it back into his truck, then put back to stock i believe.. You can call bob wagner, he will confirm or answer any other questions.. Maybe theres another way now.... 1(888)225-7637..... Heres his number.
Im the only oner of the programmer... I totaled my truck an the insurance company got to it be for I could.. so is there still nothing that can be done?
If you have anything to back up the totaled truck story I would bet Bob will help you. Just be patient

Thats why programmer company's will not clear one for you. Unless you have full proof that your truck was in fact totaled and you have receipts for the Smarty, you might have a chance. They still probably going to say you should have unloaded the tune. IMHO I can almost guarantee they arent going to do anything.Ohh boy... I forgot about those storys.. The programing is in the ECM dude. Produce the ecm and we can fix him up.
The programing is part of the product we sell. not just the handheld unit. It is his duty to go to the truck and unload the program to the tuner. It is not our duty to give out "free" Smarty's for life. No one is entitled to that. And my magic wand is in the shop for repairs so I can not magically restore his hand held unit.
The gentleman has insurance on his truck. HE needs to claim the Smarty on that claim. And anything else in the truck at the time of the accident that he does not have access to.

I notice that in April on this thread you stated you were running xrt and wanting to make a change to "another" brand.

I also have a 6.7 which has a xrt... My 06 is what the smarty was on an I got the ssr when it first came out.Thank you Sir! I'd help you if only I could. :thumbsup:

The insurance co. had to give access to the truck so the op could get any property out. Thats when he couldve unloaded his smarty. Sorry for the b/s hes got to deal with but im glad to know someone cant steal MY smarty and call with a sob story to get it unlocked.
