I assume you have a stock valve body. The smarty increases the line pressure causing the gear hunt. I just ordered the following, it claims to fix the issue. I hope to have it installed in the next couple weeks and will let you know.
Dodge "RE" Governor Solenoid to GM
Pressure Control Solenoid Conversion Kit
#REC. This kit was specifically designed to handle higher base pressure in high performance applications and to improve the reliability of the governor solenoid in normal use. In performance units the pressure can flood the Dodge solenoid and cause a no shift condition at full throttle. This is the fix. Fits all rear wheel drive RE model transmissions. Added 9-25-2008. Cost $149.00

PATC 46RE 47RE 48RE Transmissions, Performance Transmission A518, 518 is about 3/4 way down the page

I still get the tranny hunt with light throttle. Its annoying because Im trying to stay off the pedal to get better mileage. From what I have read, the stock governor solenoid can't handle the higher pressure the smarty and other programmers add when they ajust the stock torque management program . Hope this works and Ill post the results....

:S:Just trying to get my brain wrapped around this issue:doh:....So the programmer(smarty) increases the demand on the transmission with the extra torque, but the lack of increased line pressure is causing the shutter shift? or where is the connection? I had the same issue w/ the DiabloPredator. I figured my BD/VB would solve this problem. I have already replaced the Governor pressure soleniod and sensor trying to cure the issue. It would be nice to find a solution other than going back to stock.....stock isn't as fun:headbang:
