The Smarty is awesome. With the Jr you get the less complicated functions that people claim make the XRT so great.
Something to think about....... Black smoke, soot, etc is unburnt fuel. Unburnt fuel means less fuel mileage. I will agree that it is nice to have some smoke now and then, but it is much nicer to have decent MPG and an efficient tune. If smoke is of interest to you step up the the regular smarty. Put that bad mother on SW9 and give the skinny pedal a stomp ... you will get plenty of smoke.
