I know another Smarty thread whoo hoo. When I was reflashing the truck the other day I was wondering why does the lift pump run while the smarty is doing its thing? When it starts the lift pump will turn on and stay on till about 55% or so and then it will turn it on and off till its finished. Anyone know why it does this? Kind of thinking it cant be too good for the lift pump.

My Bullydog does the same thing when uploading. I've also wondered why it does that. I'm selling my bullydog and getting a smarty so I'll pay attention to what it does.

My 2006 does it also, but my buddy's 2004.5 does not do it near as long.

it does vary by model year, the fass fuse should be pulled on all years to prevevnt communication errors

Mine does the same thing as yours lakelife ... I also wondered how hard it was on the pump ... how much shorter it's life will be each time I change the tune.

Im on my second walbro pump right now and I have barely had the walbro kit for a year. Hope this one lasts longer or I'm going to a FASS setup. I like the air/water seperation that FASS offers.
