Smarty defueling early.......why?

So I'm running s06 sw7 tq2 tm3 rp2 wg off and it runs normal but as soon as I hit 3200rpm truck falls flat on its face and boost falls from 40psi to 32 in a matter of 1-2sec. I'm pretty sure its supposed to fuel til 3500 rpm so I'm losing some top end here. Doesn't matter what sw or settings I run it seems to always act the same. What am I missing here? :confused013:

You can try loading TNT-r and setting the rpm limiter higher to gain rpm. See if that helps!
Smarty SR S-06
Do you have any codes? I'm thinking 480 and 483. These are the electric fan clutch.
Sounds about right. Stock the truck cuts fueling around 3200ish and regular smarty in my experience only fuels for stock rpms. You aren't making power up there anyways so no sense in spinning that high.
Brian I would try the tntr but I don't want to yet at least until valve springs are in. Insurance against the bad drivers that sometimes use my truck :S:

Jfox I've had the 0483 code ever since I got the truck last yr. Please explain what this would have to do with fueling? I'm curious now.....

Bgbldodge I know stock fueling is at 3200 but I was under the impression that smarty tnt fuels to 3500 on the stock setting. I know I'm not making peak power by then but should I b hitting a wall? I literally cuts off like stock fueling. I just want those last few rpms to improve my 0-60 cause then I can avoid the 4-5 shift.
Ill check what the rp does up there but pretty sure its holding 23.5k
Thanks guys
Not on stock it won't. And every truck is different. I've seen stock vp trucks spin 4500rpm and make power that high while others due off at 2700. Same with cr's.
Maybe I will try tntr but seems weird to me how quickly the fuel cuts out. Brian can confirm if or if not the stock rpm on a smarty is bumped to 3500. I know it free revs past 3500 and doesn't do that stock :confused013:
I will say about rpm limiters, often one will notice that they do not rev as high as one sets them to. If lets say you use TNT-r and insist on doing 3600 rpm, you should consider setting the limit @ 4,000.
on my 03 i run the same tune, i'll see 3500 if i want to, dont know if 03 to 04.5+ is different though
I have the SSR set at 6k and still haven't seen full fuel past 3500. Even in 2nd gear with little load on the motor is struggles to get past 3500 and won't touch 4k, but I guess every truck is different.
Mine falls off hard at 37-3800 with a 4k limit set. A stock truck or tune set to stock rpm limit should start falling off around 3200 and limit at 3500.
Ok sounds like I gotta crank it up. I like how u guys convinced me like that :hehe: ill just try it once to see if it makes a difference and I like it........:rof
I run TNT r on sw7 on my 05 and mine fuels fine.

U running stock or 4k option?

More input along this line anyone? Curious now
Is the electronic waste gate opening? You said the boost falls off, the fuel is going to match the air being supplied to the engine.

03-04 have a mechanical wastegate. Just a thought.

Also what is your supply pressure doing up there? Do you have a fuel pressure gauge monitoring that Carter pump?

Wg are electronic 04.5 and up and I'm assuming its working cause when I run stock wg setting I can see it hit 32 a level off whereas with wg off I can get 40.

Not to sure on fp. Don't have that gauge yet. I just double checked and rp is a solid 23.5k the whole way to 3500rpm so not sure if that means fp is good or not :confused013:

If the computer sees the fan clutch will not lock because of an open circuit, it will defuel the motor!

There is a thread about what pins to put a resistor between to 'fix' it.
I'm looking for it now, to help a friend.

Please post it when u find it.
Ok I loaded tntr and ran it and while it does pull harder longer it still defuels or something. Here's a vid and u can c in 5th gear at the end when I get around 3300 rpm or so the turbo loses speed and boost drops. Could it b the dp blowing the wg open in the taller gears?
