I am going to make a long story short. I bought an 07 Dodge. The check engine light was on when I bought the truck. I drove two hours to get the truck and thought I got a good deal. They told me it was some module to be fixed and I have a signed piece of paper saying that. Took the truck to a local dealer after two failed attempts by the dealership I bought the truck from to see what the problem was. Found out it needs a new DPF. The truck was a fleet lease vehicle and whoever drove it gutted the cat.
My question is can I turn off the dpf regeneration and unbolt the exhaust behind the gutted cat for a couple of weeks until my full exhaust comes in? My smarty will be in on monday.
The computer says exhaust filter 100% full, power reduced see dealer. The dealer is not returning calls, and I am in the middle of getting an attorney, but I need the truck and all its power. My plan is to get rid of the dpf anyway, but I want the good emissions parts in case I ever sell the truck or my county starts requiring e check. Any responce would be appreciated.
Thanks
Scott
