I got a good deal on a complete set of 2007 Laramie leather seats, both seats have power and have seat heaters for my Mega. Of course, everything bolts in without any problems, but the wiring becomes the issue. I really don't care about the seat heaters, and the pass seat has a harness that jumps from the drivers seat, but the connector to plug in on the truck side is the smaller square connector, and the connector on the seat side is the rectangular connector . . . SOOOOO . . I guess I either need the rectangular connector for the truck side OR I could just splice in some jumper wire from the seat side to the truck side . .

I am wondering if the color coded wiring is the same? Splicing would then be an easy fix to getting all the power up for the seats. I have not been able to find wiring diagrams for the MegaCabs for both years. The 06 factory disc only mentions the wiring for a standard cab . . should be the same??

Does anyone have the 07 factory repair disc? Can someone e-mail me a copy of the pages for the seat wiring? PM me and I will give you my e-mail addy. Has anyone done this and can just give me their expert advice as to how you did it?

I do have the dash piece for the cubby, it has the switches and they have pigtail ends long enough for me to do the wiring without a harness if I wanted to hook up the heaters, but all I care about right now is getting both power seats operational.

Any, all help would be appreciated. TIA.

@Olddodgeowner - THANKS for the reply, I kind of thought it would be relatively easy to do. I just need to figure out what 2 wires to splice, def need the wiring diagrams . . I hope someone jumps in with the info so I can get them up and running.

@bigtexss - yes, I looked at both Chilton and Haynes manuals, they DO have wiring diagrams, but, the seat wiring information is incomplete . . and the factory manual leaves much to be desired. I am good at mechanical/power stuff, but not so good at the electrical stuff. I was just hoping someone would tell me what they did and make it easy on me . .

I'm currently doing the same thing but my donor Laramie seats are out of an 05... and of course the plugs don't match up! I got the donor harness and switches for the heated seats, I'll try and take pics as I splice in the new plug. As mentioned above, it doesn't look like there will be too many spliced ends (seat controls are after harness making it much less complex).

One thing that is really annoying is the seat belt alarm! I've installed seats but haven't gotten to wiring yet!

Well, outside of the difference in the two plugs, the 2006 truck side has 6 wires, the 2007 seat side has 7 wires, the color codes for the 6 of the wires appear to be the same. I am just going to peel back the wire loom, and tap into both sides jumpering the matching color coded wires and see how that does . . it should be correct.

Then, I guess I will need to find out what that other wire is, well, maybe not, if everything works I might not worry about it. It probably has to do with the seat heaters, would be my first guess, if/when I get to wiring up the dash panel for the seat heaters I may find out about it. I'm thinking I might relocate the dash panel/switches, if the dash harness does not have the heated seat switch wiring, if I have to run the wiring myself, then those switches can go just about anywhere, and I can keep the cubby in tact.

I also have the center switch for the electric rear window, it was included in the panel with the pigtails for the heater switches . . hmmmm . . good excuse to install the electric rear window, eh?

Sounds like a good plan, I'm leaning towards installing heated switches somewhere on either side of the "tunnel console" for ease of wiring and maintaining the cubby holes on the dash.

I did the same swap in myu mega cab. Its my daily driver and I did it at night. I ran across the same problem and ended up just using the old wiring and only have the drivers seat operating and everything in the center console. I have not got around to making the other seat work. I lost the number for the yard I bought the seats from as I was going to call them back and see if they still had the truck and could get me the swicth in the dash and get me the wiring harness under the carpet. If you do get it working I would like to know what wires you tapped into. My truck is a 06 not really sure what year the seats came out of I just know they would not plug into the floor harness.

When I put the power seats from a 2006 in my 2005 I couldn't figure out what wire went where. I ended up looking for the two large guage wires one orange or red and one black or green. I measured across them and got 13 volts with the truck running or not. The seats have been working fine ever since. I hooked up both the cig lighter and the seat base. No worries.

So did you wire the passenger seat as well? or was yours manual? I finnaly got my hands on a set of SRT-10 seats out of an 05' I am putting in my 07' tonight. My factory seats are driver power only and the SRT-10's are both.

Just swapped heated leather from an 06 Laramie to my 06 slt mega cab. All the wires you need are under the drivers seat coming through the carpet. If you have all the harnesses still connected to the new seats it's a simple plug and play. The seats I got did not come with the track on the drivers seat, so i had yo use my old track which didnt have wiring for the heated seats or the passenger power, so nothing matched up. There is supposed to be a harness that runs from the drivers seat to the center console, and under the console it splits off and runs to the passenger seat. Since I had to use my old harness, it would only plug into the console and I had nothing for the passenger seat. Anyways, the 3 wire plug on the passenger seat is (orange/red - power, black - ground, green/white - heated seat power) I just extended these wires over to the drivers side and tapped into the harness coming up through the carpet. There is 2 green/white wires in the harness, since my drivers seat harness was missing, I had to tap each one from both seats into this harness. I didn't care to find which one was which, since I can do that behind the dash when the time comes. I'm not sure where the heated seat wires end up, I looked behind the dash but didn't see any gren/white. I'll do some testing later... Now my question is, can anyone tell me what the voltage reading is on the green/white wires while the heated seats are on both low and high?
