It's normal to shift in 2nd at about 5-7 mph, shouldn't fall on it's face though.
Have you slid the AFC cover all the way forward and turned the starwheel?
Getting smoke?

Yes

The star wheel is all the way open and I am getting smoke. The tranny will down shift into 2nd If I put it to the floor, it just seems like when under a load (going up driveway hill less than 5 mph) it shifts into second too soon.

I would say it’s the bands mine use to start out in 2nd and shift hard down to first:shock: but I had the bands adjusted and it stopped it sounds like a similar issue so try getting them adjusted:thumbsup:

Thanks I will try that. The wierd thing is if I manually pull the shifter down into 1st It doesn't do it.
