Im driving a 2001 5 spd w/ SO vp44, no plans for ppump.
currently running 150hp DDP sticks & other supporting mods w/ ejwA hot

Ive got a silverbullett 66/80(66/74/14) T3

What is going to be the right fuel to light this turbo quickly?

Nothing.. vp doesnt fuel hard enough down low to light a 66 quickly. I do have a buddy running one with 220 hp injectors though and once it does light is fun but takes forever

I plan on putting a monster vp on but I would like to do injectors and tubes on the stock vp first to see the difference between pumps, just wondering what other people have found that works good with that turbo since it is a fairly popular charger

Ive made 600 with a sps66 and ddp 220s back in 03. 650hp is pretty common with a little bigger inj. I usually drove around with 150hp injs and a tst comp (off) and a smarty on 1. Your prolly close. Depending on your elevation....which looks to be close to sea level then your rpm should be around 15-1800 for it to start building rpms

He said light fast it will ligt it eventually and my buddies made 650 horse. But on the street he shifts to 3rd and floors it and blows smoke for 3-5 seconds before it hits. Ive heard cams can really help spool though

cams help out some.

tell your buddy to roll into it and not floor it. that will help out

Yeah... Since when do us diesel guys with big singles just "floor it" haha tell him to learn how to drive it and it won't be so bad. Phatshaft 66's are fun on VP trucks. Just injectors is all it takes.

So your saying I could actually drive it with my 150s and it would light around 1800?

Also had a guy offer to trade "300 hp" scheid injectors for my 150s..
Would those be too big for a SO VP

Have you figured out what size injector needed?

Main thing will be learning to drive with more rpms. Larger singles like/need more rpm to get going. If the turbo lights around 1800 try to stay above 1600 and roll into it. Drop a gear if needed. Asking a larger turbo to light like a small one just isnt happening.
You mentioned tubes, larger tubes/lines dont help, but will likely cause a lope. The lope often causes stalling/bucking issues.
Injector- 150 is around the min size for a bullet. larger will likely start to affect mpgs, but will be easier on the VP vs running with the box up all the time.

350 miles on a tank is not 16mpg. depending on how low you run it

:hehe:

I averaged 16ish mpg about 350 miles out of a tank. with a 66/150s and the smarty on fuel saver mode.
Was it to laggy to drive?
