Silencer Ring Question

I have read many people on here that have pulled the Silencer Rings off. I have also seen the pics and thread on how to do it. But I haven't seen anybody mention if pullin it out can adversly affect the truck in any way. :confused013: Will I lose any power at all if I pull it out. :confused013: I read somewhere that Chrysler acyually had Holsett put them in. :confused013: How much louder does it make the Turbo? Thanks fer any input.

no GAIN or LOSS in hp from it, i've heard that yer spool up can be slowed though:thumbsup:

i've already tried to pull mine like 5 times, but, the sob is welded in or somethin...:whip:

:D
Well if it don't make me lose power I want to take it out, but I don't want it takin longer to spool. Does anybody have aany confirmation on this spoolin? :confused013: Also I have an HX40 so do I even have one? I havent ever looked.
i did a search on HX40 turbo pics, to see if i could see a ring in em, and found this page...:confused013:

TAG
:confused013: Didn't see too much on there. But then again I didn't really read it yet either.
well i've takin out like 4 of them...the only thing it dose is make your turbo just a little louder...not to much just to where you can hear it a little more...
Ok. But it didn't take your truck longer to spool up or anything did it?
DUDE, go do it, NOW:whip::whip::whip:

:D

you won't regret it, i promise, that is, if yer turbo even has one...:confused013:
Yeah as soon as I get home from work I'm goin to check and if she has one its uh cummins out! :lol4: I just hope it is a noticeable difference in the sound dept.
the only way you will tell a difference is if you have an open intake like a cai or something
it doesn't effect the spool time or the power, it just makes you feel faster cause the turbo sounds ba-daz
I have the BHAF. I should be able to hear it. Again I still need to check and see if I have one or not.
sorry didnt read ur sig... then yeah youll tell a difference
Ok. Well I will be leavin work in bout 15 min. and I gonna go home and check it out. If I have one its uh cummins out and I'll let yall know how it turns out. Thanks fer the replies everyone.
Well it didn't even have one in it. I guess the previous owner removed it or it just never had one. :confused013: Thanks fer all the help though guys.

Seriously, just go try it. If you don't like it put it back in. Guess you don't have that option. I'd be more worried about that Holley LP than anything...
Silencer ring

I have recently taken it out of my 01 2500 the silincer ring that is and the only difference i have noticed is that my turbo was much louder and i havent lost any horse power
Well it didn't even have one in it. I guess the previous owner removed it or it just never had one. :confused013: Thanks fer all the help though guys.
Thats funny after all the posts and dident even have one.:lol4:
I pulled mine out and did notice that the turbo took longer to spool up than normal. Kinda bugged me so I put it back in. The 4" straight pipe took care of wanting to make it so I could hear it.
My turbo used to bark alot when I had mine in, It has yet to bark since removing it 5k miles ago. :confused013:
