Heres the deal:
A guy I know is selling his 99 Cummins and I was thinking about buying it. he wants 7500 for it and it has all new stuff (suncoast tranny, injectors, starter, gauges, edge comp, etc.) but it has around 270,000 miles on it. I drove it and it drives fine, im just worried about the extremly high miles. Any imput on what I should do?

how long have you been looking a engine with high mileage and lots or mods could have a shortened life span

With the mileage and add ons you are close to tearing down the motor and freshening it up. More than likely the tranny too.
I say keep looking.

why would he need to tear down a new suncoast tranny?
