Hi Guys,

I'm brand new to the forum and have owned my 1999 Dodge 3500 for 8 years now. It's been a great truck and has never let me down until this past week as it just unexpectedly died.

It showed no warning and has always started easily until then and is completely stock/original besides exhaust. It seems like a fuel issue as the engine cranks over fine, all the fuses/relays seem fine but only wants to run on ether.

I'm definitely not a mechanic and luckily until this point haven't had to have any serious work done to the truck nor trust any local auto repair shop to be Cummins experts.....I live live in Hartford an am wondering if anyone can recommend a local shop that I should take my truck to?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/education! Rob

i moved out of that area a while ago, but i'm trying to remember some shops.

not sure if moose's 4x4 would do something like that, another is dave's offroad or 4x4, can't remember. huckstorf is possible, but going to be pricey. i did all my own fixes, but i'll let you know if i come across anymore shops.

if your vp44 went out, which is very possible, plan on doing the lift pump as well.
it's not that bad of a job.
a guy on here contacted me few yrs ago to help him with his vp44. we got it done in an afternoon.
