I've got an '01 2500 4WD Auto. Bought the truck in December. Mostly stock besides gauges, air intake, Air Dog, recently added a Smarty on level 7. Noticed that the truck seemed to hang up or hesitate shifting into 5th gear, and after it was in 5th gear it wouldnt downshift (to pass a car). I was told that the truck had a built tranny, bigger injectors, turbo ect. before I bought it. Unfortunately the guy swapped everything before, returning it to stock. After adding the Smarty theres no hesitation going into 5th gear, but still have the issue of not downshifting to pass a car. A shop who is familar with the truck (they did most of the performance work for the previous owner) said that the pressures turned up and it has upgraded clutch packs. Any ideas why it won't downshift when the pedals applied?
