So a few weeks ago I had new wheels and tires installed and now this message pops up every time vehicle is started. The shop where I purchased them from lowered my thresholds and everything seemed fine until about 20 miles down the road the message popped up and also my back passenger tire doesn't show up on the dash anymore. Initially I thought that maybe the sensor was damaged when transferring over, so I swapped sides on the rear tires and it is still showing nothing on rear passenger tire. Anyone else having this issue after getting new wheels and tires? Here are a few pictures.

You should add a signature and put that in it.

Exactly how did this shop lower your TPMS thresholds??? Because it takes more equipment than most tire shops have.

Some sort of comm error maybe.

I think he commented about your truck over in the TPMS thread. It's certainly odd by merely changing the TPMS settings caused the issue. I've helped adjust 100's of trucks and that issue has never occurred that I know of. There are small radio receivers at each tire and it appears that your rear right is not functioning correctly.

Happened to me. Replaced the part inside the tire and that didn't fix it. My front passenger-side tire is the one that disappeared.
Did you mean to say it fixed your problem?

Agree, I don’t think it’s anything to do with changing the TPMS settings. Definitely think it’s a sensor issue.

I think you meant receiver issue. By swapping the tires around and the same location not working, it's not the sensor in the tire.

When the RF Hub reset/update was performed, some information from one of your sensors ID wasn’t updated, so it’s not being picked up. Updating the hub again probably won’t fix it. I don’t know if the Autel can perform a sensor rolls test, but that’s what needs to be done while driving to force the RF Hub to pick that sensor back up.

I have a similar issue. I bought a set of used oem wheels to run in the winter. Added some oem tpms sensors. I did run for about 2 months without sensors so I had the service tpms message. After the sensors were added the system didn't pick them up. Went to the dealer and had them program them in. They were able to get 3 out of the 4 to activate (front passenger), the 4th they could pick up with their sensor and read the id. I had them write down the Id's for all the sensors. I picked up a security bypass cable and the Alphaobd. I manually entered the id reset the rf hub went for a drive and nothing. Did the sensor roll test and the 3 working sensors passed and the 4th failed. Having that sensor replaced on Tuesday.

@bugkiller, what cutoutcummins just posted is exactly what you need to do to rule out a dead sensor. Do you have access to the autel or the person that used the autel to do the update?
When performing an update to the RF Hub (or any other module), especially via Bluetooth, this is the exact reason that it is important to log your RF Hub system id before and after a change so you can confirm that the only value that has changed is the pressure threshold numbers. If the Bluetooth looses signal for a split second during an update (think listening to music via Bluetooth, and the song pauses briefly), it can miss transferring some data. It might not rear its head in a noticeable way most times, but sometimes it can in the form of other faults, like maybe sometimes the truck won’t lock or unlock the first time you hit the button on the fob, or remote start sometimes will wake up the EVIC, but not follow through. Little things like that for example.

Rolls test was done, didn't help. The wheel from the offending corner was broken down, and the sensor was in perfect shape and installed properly. We replaced all 4 sensors, reset the rolls data, and the the truck works fine.

Sounds like whatever reason or another, the other sensor just died out?
Here’s an example of something that went wrong during an RF Hub update due to a Bluetooth communication issue:

The vehicle’s PIN number wasn’t transferred to the hub from the BCM, and the brake transmission shift interlock was lost. Most people would never notice this because updating the thresholds is the only thing they’ll ever use that PIN for, but on the pictured hub, that PIN won’t work anymore and 0000 will have to be used. Same with the BTSI. Nobody thinks about that clicking noise that you hear when you put your foot on the brake to be able to shift out of park. The truck pictured is now able to be shifted out of park without pressing the brake.

I just went and connected to the rf hub to see what info I could find about my sensors. And I found something interesting. I though I checked each sensor to make sure I had the right one's but apparently I didn't. It's showing my right front as being a 315mhz.

Issue solved! As Paul stated all sensors were replaced with factory ones and everything looks to be operating normal. A big thanks to the crew over at CJC Off-road for taking care of this issue!

There you go! Hopefully wherever you bought them from will let you exchange it?

Got a partial refund from the place I bought them through and getting it replaced under warranty through my dealer. I've bought enough trucks through them (5 in 9 years) that they treat me very well and generally don't ask questions except what I'm adding next
