Some of yall can go ahead and say it, SEE I TOLD YOU SO. Well I put my silence ring back in, after pulling some machinery back home today the turbo seemed to be surging. When I got home today and made it a one piece by welding the two pieces together since the ring was damaged while removing it. Just took it for a test drive and it doesnt surge now, however it still has a nice whistle to it, just a higher pitched whistle than what it sounded like with it off. Oh and yah, I think it runs a little better now. So I'll say it with yall, "I told you so"!:w:

Yup, I did it on my first 6.7. Loved the sound but noticed the performance loss. It's staying in place on this 6.7.

I have found people will still do it even though you tell them it will hurt it instead of help it. Its the same as removing the muffler. Even though many of us have done it and found NO increase in anything one guy will pipe up and say he saw a world of difference and they will believe the one guy over the 10 that said not to do it. Its just the way life goes.

i took mine off long enough for one test drive. i took it off as soon as i heard it was a "mod" but it definately disrupts the flow to the compressor. my results were less peak boost which resulted in the swift re-installment of the silencer ring. it was only a litlle louder and i dont sacrafice cornball boost noises for max boost.
