Just installed my 3250 DD yesterday and I am impressed with the clutch so far. Peter had some great tips that helped get this thing installed without too much trouble. It definitely is going to take some getting used to but I am looking forward to having a clutch that holds. :thumbsup

I do have one question for the guys that have this clutch already. The clutch pedal is very high compared to the stock clutch and I am wondering if there is any way to get it closer to the stock location. I did adjust the rod that connects to the clutch pedal and it is still high. If that is the way it is I can deal with it but thought I would ask. The other thing that I notice is the clutch is engaging at almost the very end of the travel, not a big deal but is different than the old one.

Don't take this as complaining as I love this new clutch. A big thank you to Peter and South Bend, your product is top notch. :beer

releasing at the top will burn your clutch up, shim the slave cylinder with washers it will drop the pedal. you did take the washer out behind the pivot ball?

I did remove the washer, Peter filled me in on that one when I talked to him.

How would the clutch releasing at the top be any more harmfull then releasing at the bottom?

it will have no free travel and as the engine RPM's pick up centrifical force will cause the levers to come back into the bearing therfore releasing the clutch

As I understand what your saying about free play in the pedel ... Noone else said there clutch pedel didn't have any play.

He was just stating that it sticks up a little further. My point is if the clutch engages at the top of the pivot ... or on the bottom ... as long as there is some freeplay ... it should not effect the clutch

your right, but as the clutch wears the pedal will come up, might not be a problem now but could develope into one, i'm just speaking from experience not trying to start any thing. i personally like them to engage less than 1/2 floor, if he has no adjustment now he wont gain any later.

I did say it was engaging at the very end of the travel and if I can figure out a way to make it engage at 1/2 way like the stocker I would be very happy with that.

let the clutch break in some get alittle driving time on it. it may come down. i know i can get mine to release right off the floor by adjusting the clutch pedal all the way down. i also have the 3250 pressure plate.

I am just wondering I am going to be installing mine within next week or two.
Is there a way to have it that the clutch petal has very little movement at all with this clutch? So that it engages as soon as you start to let it out????

it wont go down, it can only come up. shim the slave and be done with it,it will drop your pedal, remember you moved the whole clutch back .200 of and inch some adjustments may be necessary

How thick of a shim do you think to bring that clutch back down? Thanks!

I appreciate your trying to help but be careful when you suggest something when it is not your clutch. The style of pressure plate he is using is not the same as you use. The levers WILL NOT centrifugally come back toward the transmission.

By the way, the word is not "centrifical" it is "centrifugal" :thumbsup

Airsick, I PMed you. I am out of the office today but when you get a chance, give me a call on Thursday.
