i have a 2002 2500 with 75,000 miles. i have a 4 inch turbo back exhaust and an afe intake. it also has an edge juice with attitude. i have no problem hitting mid 30s for boost. the highest i have seen was 38psi. what is a safe number to set the defuel at. i dont have a j hook or anything.

couldnt see the attitude was flashing 38psi on the gray/black background. it defueled because of boost, not egt thought and i have the egt at 1350. in the 30ish psi range i am under 1000 degrees unless going up hill. have only managed to go over 1000* a few times.

I see as high as 44 but ive got it set to defuel at 40 lol! I wouldnt suggest much higher than 38-40.

Yup although I'd set it at 40 just in case you punch it and the truck down shifts and spikes the boost a little.

good news i felt like i was loosing some top end because of the boost hitting the defuel. i should get a little top gain now that i know those numbers are safe

Just for my own info is this on the stock or aftermarket turbo? HY35?? If so, I thought they were good for up to about 30 or so.

it is a stock turbo, hy 35

mine spikes 50 and holds about 45 psi stock turbo with wastegate unplugged.

if you have an hy35 i would back that sucker down to about 35 or less...an hx is ok to 40 but an hy make no power above 35psi and only adds heat.

i've seen guys hook their wastegates back up and gain hp by only running 35psi of cooler air instead of 45 psi of hot air
