S468,471,472??!!!

Wanted to squeeze a little more power out of my build. Sent my nozzles to extrude hone to get honed out 80% over, wanted to select a charger that would accommodate them well. I see there are a lot of options for S400 frame chargers, I want one capable of 900hp, but realistically I know I will be closer to the 850 mark. I have a motorsport diesel pump, ported head and a hamilton 188/220 cam, hamilton pushrods and 110# valve springs. I already have a non gated t-4 steed speed manifold. Is the spool up really affected greatly by compressor wheel size? I always though of the exhaust housing/ wheel size made up for spool speed. If that is the case, would a S471 be my best option?

What do you guys think? I just want a quick spooling charger that makes for a fun street truck.

If you want a quick spooling charger, you can forget about all three of the turbos you just listed :hehe:
I too would like to see what everyone says. I have a similar setup and would like to know also. Not trying to hijack but what about that 467.7 everyone talks so good about. Thanks for the post

Nope wasn't going to even mention them...... But since you did Twins are the best way to go 2>1.. but if you want to keep a single the s467.7fmw seems to be the bees knees and there are people doing 750-900hp...(HOT)
the 467.7 is supposed to flow as much as a 472. Or at least the old 472 I have not seen a new one yet. It should be capable of what you want, but will be on its upper limit. As far as spool goes, the 464/83/1.25 on our 06 was very, very drivable even with a loose ex. housing. a 467.7 with a .90 or 1.0 should be similar if not better and I loved driving that truck with a single. It was a little slow if you rolled into it in OD at 55, but if you let it downshift it was gone instantly. If you step up to a 475 then spool time may be a little longer than what you want, but then you have air for 900+. Les' truck is a good example of what a 475 can do with 100% overs. 11.1 if I recall correctly and I would say it could go high tens if he pushed it at all.

Had to use a 467.7 FMW turbo on my 04.5 for a short period, while I rebuilt the secondary charger on my twin set up. I was amazed at how fast it spooled on my 04.5, also ran fantastic, but it did have a little bark when you let off the go pedal too fast. Liked it so much, I debated leaving it on my 5.9L instead of putting it on my 07.5 6.7L, which is why I had all the parts gathered up to convert it, my vote is for the S-467.7.
I love my s467.7 and it really going to suck when I out grow it. I dont know my exact power level, 756 on the dyno but it traps 120 at ~7350.

How fast do you really want to go with your truck?
He told me low 11s, high 10s yesterday.
Idk if there is a huge weight difference between our trucks but I am pretty much out of air with the 67.7. I think we can get a little more out of it but I highly doubt I will see 10s on this charger.

I am speaking 100% pecimistic about this as well...

So, if it were me and I wanted to go 10s it would be a cast BW s475. John is right at the point where I am. Do I wanna give up the awesome driveability and fun the 67 offers to go .3 faster?
I agree. Either he goes s467.7 or jump to a s475 unless something comes about with the new s472 that says/proves it will outperform the s467.7.
Although his w/m may offer a little boost. Or I know it has been suggested that he just buy a small no2 kit and ditch the w/m.
He says no to the spray, asked that yesterday. He loves the meth haha. Trying to get him to lock converter in 2nd too.
S467.7 it is...
You going with the box FMW charger john?
I know for a fact a 472 has made 870 on fuel with box tuning on an 05. Any 467's around doing that?
No one want to back up the almighty 467?
Race truck ran mph for 900 on 467
There are a bunch of guys in the 850-900 range by mph/weight conversion with the 467.
