So just was wondering , did anybody pre-order there S&B cold air intake ? I know it was yesterday that they were taking pre-order's.

For the money, what DOES it really do for the truck? Not trying to be smart, just seriously wonder what it helps with, does it give one enough extra mpg to merit the cost? Or, maybe as you seem to say, you're adding it just because it's something you can add to your truck without killing the warranty:confused013:

garranteed more air , jus take off the flap that switches from grill to fender and it will take air from both . should be better response . Plus a better sound . Cant get any worst than what it is now , if anything should be better . Let me know how yours goes .

Have you actually done a research, not Joe Blows "hear say", or an advertisement for the product by it's manufacturer?? At one time there were several researches done by non-bias research laboratories not only with the Cummins OEM air filter but also the Chevy D/A OEM air filter...and it was REALLY, REALLY an endeavor by these after market "cold air intake" air filters to not only allow MORE air flow, but also to keep more contaminants out of the intake than the OEM air filter. Sure, the OEM air filter doesn't have a "fancy shape" or "pretty color" and may not be packaged the same, but any gain is mostly hype...I guess if one wants to pay several hundreds of dollars to just think the sound of the engine "might" change a little seems like a waste of money to me, but as many of you will now say, "It's my money", you're right, but it's been proven there is no where near a significant gain of anything to merit the cost. May have helped older trucks, but this IS a 2013 forum and clear back to 08' it was starting to be proven that the K&N oil type filter was a bad idea on a diesel engine, (MAF sensor being biggest issue), but I've done the research and not bought into all the hype that the manufacturers of these air filters plaster all over the place about their merits....really isn't there...
heck, you want noise, drill a hole in one of the headers:thumbsup:

These trucks already have a cold air intake. A high flow air filter MIGHT give you just a wee bit of spool up time...but that's all I see...

So you keep count of how many threads that YOU deem "I" hijack?? How many, in YOUR "opinion" have I hijacked? Wow, we now have "Hijack Police" on these forums.
I've been called the "Weight Police", and I can live with that one, but being accused of hijacking 'ANOTHER' thread...you must have a lot of time on your hands...I'm stating an opinion...I fought for that right , I've earned that right, so I'm not allowed, in your opinion, to state solid facts??? If you don't agree, you just say someone is hijacking a thread??.....talking about being narrow minded
