The turbo went out on my 07 5.9 a couple weeks ago. I replaced the turbo charger last night it started up fine when i got on the road and it came into boost it started to accellerate uncontrobily:shock:. I killed the key and got on the breaks hard. It was still trying to accellerate and i was running out of road. so i put it into neutral and it quickly came to a stop but the engine was deep it to redline befor it shut down probibly nearing 5000 rpm the motor is now seized up but what the hell would cause it to do this.
thanks in advance

oil in the intercooler from the turbo... Someone else had this happen in recent weeks... while it's too late now, maybe a quick way to kill the motor would be to cut one of the boost hoses. Not sure if it would work but that wold be the 1st thing I'd try.

You should have cleaned the intercooler and intake pipes before going out for a test drive..

Guess you never noticed some of the guys that run WMO. Usually in the older 12v engines. Not a lot of difference between oil and diesel either. Expensive lesson.

Yea the oil that is in the intercooler will get picked up and turn into a fine mist. And off to the races it goes. That sucks man a I have seen older semi trucks run away on grain dust if it is dusty enough and fine enough. In side a elevator. The bad way they can gain RPMs so fast it's to late if you can get it shut down
