Is putting in the rpm spring letting it rev to 3500 going to hurt the life of the pump by taking it apart and all.

Provided that you're clean with it, the spring install itself shouldn't hurt anything. Unless you're one of these people that break the fulcrum lever when you do it...

Now, rapping it to high RPM on a regular basis is very likely to decrease life of the pump, especially if you are running it out of fuel as you do it. Anything done to the pump is going to decrease life of the pump; it wants low pressure and low RPM, not high pressure and high RPM.

Who has more than 100,000 miles on a turned up pump?
