My buddys 06 2500 6 speed rpm guage sticks around 200 and won't really move depends how fast your going what could it be thanks

It's the tach it self. It's dead, real common problem with the 06's. Mine died at 42K but i have an auto, so its not that critical.

and it isn't cheap....

I have the same problem, and its my "instrument cluster". $440 dollar entire dash panel/gauge replacement that has to be done by the dealer because they have to program it with my correct mileage. OUCH. At least my bad injector is covered.....

did the same thing last week... total bill was for $950 dollars and they have to flash it with starscan.. at 125hr...

i only paid 100 dollars for my deductible on warranty..
