RA- sounds good. Please let us know when you feel comfortable taking on a group order. I know many guys would like a bumper. I know I do! because my front tow hooks are useless! I've already relocated my bumper 2 inches lower once. That was a nice surprise. Good luck to you, and look forward to doing buisness with you.

wildcat laid down the law on this thread:thumbsup

..i think its amazing how someone can state one case of a problem theyve had with a company...and somehow everyone jumps on the band wagon and decides to treat a company like the company is out to get everyone

..Road armor has been on the leading edge of developement of bumpers for all the new trucks that come out, as well as late model trucks, and im sure they will continue to do this for many years to come!

It's all good, in this age when everything is on the internet and I see negitive feed back of this sort on a company then I would like to see them prove the feedback wrong. I for one love the look of Road Armor Bumpers and have not seen anything to compare with the look but, for $1900.00 plus I would expect to see some generous feedback before I am willing to drop this much on a Bumper.

I have to step in and offer my two cents.

As previously stated I have no doubt in my mind that RA would fully refund my money. I paid a good chunk of money for a RA because I feel they are the best performing and best looking bumpers on the market. My intent with the thread was to let people know the customer service end of RA, not to complain about quality or to bash anyone. I just set out to share my experience in hope that someone else might not endure my headache. It seems my post made an impact, and I hope RA takes note of this and changes their business practice to better serve others in the future. The aftermarket truck world isn't a very large community and I like to think we try to watch out for each other as consumers. And of course I'm looking out for #1 also.

If you are seriously considering a RA I suggest you watch my situation. I have nothing to lie about, I'm an honest guy with no one to impress and I will be sure to keep you guys updated. Hopefully wrongs will be righted and business will continue as normal. Thanks for the support guys.

RA,

We were told up front about the wait and we were not mad at all about the 10 weeks. Now, had I been told it would ship in 2 weeks and then it took 10 weeks I would have had a very irate customer and that would have me a very irate dealer. Such is the case, I was told what to expect in a realistic way and a realistic timeframe and I was OK with it. 5 months would have had me on a plane, that is too long by a long shot.

The customer I refered to had his RA bumper on and did major damage to the steering linkage parts, oil pan, cross member , slight frame bend behind the bumper from ramming thru a pole, and the grill was cracked and the front edge of the hood got a ding in it. He had very little cosmetic damage. He literally ran over the car with the bumper lifting the front of the truck as it went thru/over the car. Had his front bumper not withstood the forces his truck would have not risen over the engine of the car and he would have pushed back the engine/trans of the truck and likely been killed. Remember, he had about 15,000 lbs pushing on the 7,500 lb truck and he had 300 gallons of diesel in the bed mounted transfer tank. He pushing towards 30,000 lbs. He feels 100% confident that Road Armor saved his life. The accident could have killed him. He opened his door, and was able to (barely) walk away from the truck. He ended up in the hospital because he had no seat belt on and he did some chest damage when he bent the steering wheel and broke the windshield with his head. He lost a couple teeth. Had he worn a seatbelt he may have went home for dinner that evening rather than go to a hospital.

I wish I road armor on my wifes Excursion. Its hard to put a price on what you will pay to armor plate your wife and children! I just can't afford it at the moment!

So if you order Road Armor, expect it to take time. Maybe more time than you would like. But when you finally get it.... Expect to be the envy of the town, and expect that when things go bad.... really bad.... Road Armor may well be there to save your life. I don't know about the integrety and strength of the other brands out there because my experiance is limited to Road Armor and Ranch Hand only. They are very different kinds of bumpers, both very well built.

THis a picture of the truck after we had just mounted the bumper. We had brought it in bare and had Pittsburgh Powder Coating do the white bumper to match the truck and the black ROAD ARMOR lettering. We installed the Warn winch and wired it as well as a Derale Atomic Cool trans cooler. This was before we had the PIAA lights in and wired, I forgot to take pics when it was all done! Sorry.

Fit and finish are spot on.

Hey K5, were you wanting a refund, or the bumper? I noticed you mentioned a refund in this post so I wanted to be sure on want you are requesting. They are telling me you ordered this through a dealer, and I need to know how to proceed sir. Please advise. Thanks.

I want the bumper, as I said in the PM and the post earlier. I did not order from a dealer, I called Mike directly the day before or the day after Christmas and placed the order directly through him with 'free' freight to a business. Needless to say I wasn't impressed when I saw an updated price list with my $1700 bumper for sale for $1500. Does anyone there know what's going on? It looks like its more than two weeks out again.

Okay, that is the confusion on my end though.. No worries. The bumper will be coming out of Florida and my vendor is dealing with power issues because of the storm down there right now. He said he could work with me to get it out next week. I am confused at what pricing you are talking about because we have it listed on our website right now for $2185 for a bumper with prerunner guard. In any case, I am working on this for you, and hope to have it resolved early next week.

The original bumper I ordered, the Sahara, was discontinued about 3 months into my wait. For whatever reason no one wanted to build me the bumper I had originally ordered. I wanted a Lonestar guard instead of the pre runner, but I couldn't swing the price difference after the two or three jumps made during my wait. When I changed my order the Prerunner was a few bucks more than 1700 and the Lonestar was about 2k even. Steel is on the rise, I fully understand that part of it.
