I am about to go to 8" of lift, and dont know what route to take for the front. I was leaning towards the Rize coils, but a friend of mine is running them and says that they are extremely stiff and the ride is very rough.

Has anyone else with these coils experienced this?

The coils are s&!t I will sell you mine for 100 bucks they should be off in a month if you still need them. Give thuren a call and get a 7" from him. There about 200 more than the rize but I'm sure way worth it. The rize coild are brutally stiff IMHO

I cant afford the Thuren coils right now, so I guess I am back to just putting a 2" spacer on top of my 6" coils. If the Rize coils are as stiff as you and my friend say, then they wont be any better for me than my current springs.

People think it's stiff because of the big blocks on the rear that constantly transferring the bouncy rear to the front. I've replaced the rear springs with Spirson's full leaf and noticed a big difference in ride, even the steering is tighter now. But i have to admit, the front is a little stiff (but not brutally stiff) than the rear but the rear leaf is only rated for 800lbs. Would really like to hear from someone who has the new Thuren's linear coil and maybe switch someday to match the rear.

Hijack question, sorry OP. Is there any adverse effect in steering when switching from 8" to 7" coil? I had a vibration issue after the lift was installed and already fixed and don't want to do it all over again by going down 1 inch. thanks.

I should have said brutally stiff when compared to a quality coil. No the Rixe coils are much stiffer than most 6" coils.... Ill put it this way your better with a BDS 6" coil and a 2" spacer than Rize 8" coils. That is from expirience.

I rode in a Spirson truck (witch is still night and day stiffer spring rate wise than a Thuren or Carli) and felt like i was in a caddy.

For your steering you will just have to center your wheel (slip collar), and have the trac bar adjusted,

No no. Your good man I would be happy with the spirson ride it's just harder on paper than a Carli or Thuren.

Never been in a thuren truck but the Carli trucks are like epicly smooth

I just read your siggy I guess I thought you had a full spirson!

I'm off loading these rize coils ASAP!

The only softer coil I have found to keep you high is thurens. He can make a 7" said he thought he could do 8 but has since said 7" max
