Is it gonna really help mpg wise? I don't care about the loud part. I am just looking to get better mpg.

No. I would say it won't be that much louder either but I have an MBRP muffler. You're straight piped so I dunno what yours'll sound like. Exhaust sure does smell a lot better without one.. It's a slight restriction so I say pull it off. If it's too loud get a good hi flo aftermarket muffler to quieten it down a little...

The cat delete pipe gave me 1 mpg when I had stock exhaust. I couldn't tell a difference in noise. The 60.00 for the pipe is worth it if you ask me. :thumbsup

I think you will be happy if you take it off. Every one has different lucky with doing this or that to your truck. You may not notice any gains and then again you might not 2mpg I say just do it and find out. It won't hurt your mileage that is for sure.
