Hey guys, new to the forum, just bought my first Cummins. I’ve read a million things about remote start but after finally getting my truck, I popped the hood and saw this. Does this mean the truck has remote start? I only have one key and it is the standard lock/unlock/panic pad. I tried hittting the lock button 2x and 3x but nothing.

I have a DEI on mine and I press the * button twice for it to start. 4 button remote. My old truck i pressed lock/unlock together, twice, and it started.

You can probably find a manual online and reprogram the button that makes it start.

If it’s the factory fob, it probably won’t work. Look under the dash for the DEI brain. You can also order replacement fobs online and program then.

So I find the wiring under the steering colum? And is DEI a brand? I haven’t heard of that one

DEI is parent brand to just about every aftermarket alarm/remote start on the market. From viper and all their sister brands to Clifford alarms and many more.
