Has anyone had a rebuild done yet, if so how much did it cost?? MY dad has a 94 with just over 300k but its begining to lose compression and was wonder how much a rebuild costs.

I rebuilt the 4bt in my truck and it cost me $2500. U have 2 more pistons and the mechanics hours. I might be worth getting a reman block and jujst have them switch them out. My $.02

Yeah hes gonna have cummins do it, hes just busy buildin his house plus workin so he doesnt have time to research much. No one he knows has ever had to rebuild theirs, thanks for your $0.02 worth jakediesel...

when i did mine the kit and parts(no labor i did it myself) was around 1500

When i rebuilt mine i needed new rods and a crank, oil pump, oil cooler etc. Because it spun a bearing and metal was everywhere.
