#1. Battery in my truck goes dead and the battery had a 3yr replacement warranty. Battery was replaced last September under manufacturer warranty.

Well I'm in New Braunfels for the week with the wife and I go to local dealership. I'm told they can't help me and will not look up the warranty on the battery, SO IM PISSED. Great customer service.....so I call the dealership where the Battery was replaced. I'm told they can't tell me anything cause I wasn't the owner of the truck at that time, my buddy owned it. So I tell them my situation and then they tell me the warranty doesn't count cause my truck is out of warranty, truck had 49565 miles on it. I said what about the 3 yr warranty, and she said I would have had to purchase the battery for the warranty to be good. So know I have to go purchase battery.

Gear customer service by both Bluebonnett Dodge in New Braunfels and Mike Smith :banghead: Dodge in Beaumont :banghead:

One of my OEM batteries went south last year, so I went to Auto Zone and got two of their gold tops. Manager even gave me a discount for buying two. No problems since. The batteries should always be replaced in pairs.

Stealerships always try to get all they can out of you! I never go back to the dealership for anything, unless it's free!

I understand your frustration but warranties not transfering to new owners isn't just a dealership thing. Its how most warranties work. This isn't to mention that usually parts replaced via warranty don't renew the warranty period for the part (works the same through Napa and the like)

I agree with the above. Buy a new pair of batteries from sears and be done with it. Not worth the headache for a couple hundred bucks.

The other battery its less than a yr old so i just bought a new one to replace the bad one. I noticed my volt gauge is running around 15 volts. Is that were it should be running?

You need to check voltage at the batteries with a good voltmeter. The dash one is just a reference that somthing is going on.

I agree. I just shelled out $450 for a pair of DieHard Platinums and they're worth every penny. Starting difference is night & day over the OEM batts!
$450? WOW. I can buy two Caterpillar batteries for less than $250.

The voltage at the batteries was around 14.5 when they checked to . But unhooked the batteries were right on the money. My issue with the dealership is that the battery is a year old and the sticker on the Battery says they have a 3 yr replacement warranty that is no good since the battery was relaxed under factory warranty and not purchased. My other use was the dealership i went by while i was out of town refused to even look the information up for.
