Where do you look to see what gears are in the rear end? I know that @ 70mph I turn about 2100. I have the 6 speed manual and factory tires.
Thanks

Almost 99% sure that you have 3.73. Those are equal to an auto with 4.10 gears. My 4.88 turns 2400 rpm

If I recall correctly, the 4.10's were not available with the G56 in the "pickup" configuration in 2007.5.......only the Cab & Chassis configuration.

The dually's have 4.10's and I am running 2100 rpms at 70mph. I don't think the 3.73's where available for dually's until 2008. Someone else might know and can correct me if i'm wrong.

Ok, i got a question, never really paid any attention because no matter what the fuel mileage sucks but love the truck. I have an 2007.5 with 3.73's in it, I had the dealer print out a list of everything that came on my truck. At 70mph i'm barely running 1800rpm's so what's the deal, hearing people say that are turnning 2100 at 70. I have the 6spd auto, but like I said the print shows I have 3.73's at a whoping 13 to 14 mpg, LOL

the auto is geared differently than the manual. the 3.73 rear in with the manual runs just like a 4.10 automatic. so in reality, your 3.73 runs almost the same as the 3.42 with the manual tranny. it's all in the gearing. make sense?

you can't get get the 4.10 on the manual now. the gearing on the g56 with the 3.73 is the like a 4.10 auto.

Thanks for the update mastercaster, it makes sense not up to date on all the tranny. Had the schooling for the engine when I was at Freightliner, but they never told us how to make it get better MPG's or any of the other good stuff.
