I was just wondering on a 99 2500 with the dana 70 rear end do you have to take out the axail shaft to get the break drum off? I am leaking fluid out of the drivers side drum and the pedal is soft.Any help would be nice .:$:

nope, axle comes out to take the backing plate off if you were planning to change to discs or different drums.

the drum will come off however it will be hard to get off.

i would suggest getting some larger wheel cylinders, our trucks have the 7/8" wheel cylinder stock, which is why we have a hard brake pedal. the 3500 comes with a 1" and the dual wheel trucks come with 1 1/8", i went with the chev 1 3/8" which may be a bit oversized but i alwasy liked my chev soft brake pedal. and the little woman is more able to stop the truck when she is driving it which is a bonus for me, so i dont worry about her hitting someone if they stop fast.
