1990 W250 with 5spd. what should i be using?

before i get flamed for the "search" function, i searched "diff fluid" and got 11 pages and went through every one. so much conflicting information. some say 75w90, some say 80w90. what do the 1st gen experts use?

topped up with 80/90 last night because i had the axles out for parking brake cable replacement. everything is fine now but i couldn't believe the hack macguyver job the last guy did on my truck before i bought it. so i guess he fugged up the lever that the cables attach to inside the drum....on both sides so he dicided to WELD the cables to the lever in a taco-shell shaped 3/8" sleeve! ridiculous.
anyways, the diff took a full litre of fluid after the axles went back in. drove fine, no noise. thanks again guys.
