The mechanics of it have been proven. There are 3 pumps in the CP and 3 engine TDC's per cycle. That means, if they are "aligned," it is very possible for the differential of power stroke and intake stroke to be causing gear lash between the two...

How can it be snake oil if many, many people have confirmed it?
Did you ever do yours?

It does make sense, and it will affect some trucks more than others... by the nature of the exerpt from the service manual there is no standard for "timing" (thou its not really timing) the pump, so if the stars are aligned just right you may get some noise from the system.
