Finally got the wife's approval on a new ram. I have little over $20K for a down payment, plus employee plan. I go to the dealer, try to build a 2014 Laramie 3500 mega cab SRW with the Aisin trans. You can only build a 3500 with an Aisin, if you opt for a Dually. Surfed the net, and they're short handed on parts. I don't want a Ford, I loved my 06 ram, and I sold it to buy a new one, but if Ram (Chrysler, fiat whoever) doesn't get their sh!t together, they'll lose a $64K order. Dealer is saying by the end of Nov I'll be able to place my order, but after a few weeks already and not having a truck, the excitement of buying a brand new [email protected] truck like this is gone. I've already lost interest, and I think it's a lost cause.

They went on restriction when I ordered my 13. Well worth the wait. I almost walked away too, but my wife told me to be patient and I am in love with this truck. I came from a 10 to the 13 and it's night and day difference to me.

What's worth more? Getting the truck you want or settling for one you don't. Long after the sting of having to exercise a little patience goes away, you'll still be driving a truck you may not really be happy with.
I would not let the Aisin sway me to another brand. I make my living with my trucks and they are worked hard daily. My 10 and 12 both had the 68rfe in them it is a great transmission. The only reason my 13 3500 has the Aisin in it is because that is what was on the dealer lot when i was ready to buy. The Aisin is a great transmission i have no complaints about it, i had no complaints on my 68rfe. The 68rfe will do everything you want it to do.

If you're about to drop more money than I did on my first house, I would think you could wait a few weeks to get EXACTLY what you want. :confused013:

Ram might lose a lot of business from a lot of people if they start shipping poor quality trucks. I would give them the benefit of the doubt that they fix the problem and then deliver a high quality vehicle.
If its what you want, wait a few weeks to get it at the quality level you'd expect for a truck this pricey. Pretty much sums it up.

Punish yourself because you can't get what you want the way you want it and when you want it? They're in low supply so they have to target the most likely configuration that will want it.
Nothing is perfect. If you go with another brand, who knows? Maybe you'll be happier!

Slow down. You can't be in that big of a rush to start making payments. You certainly don't want to be making payments on something other than what you really wanted and saying I could of had that.
