I was detailing my truck today and listening to the stereo and noticed that the speakers at the bottom of the drivers and passenger FRONT doors make sounds but on a song I cant hear the lyrics. Is this normal? I have a crew cab and the speakers in the driver and passenger BACK doors do have sound and lyrics coming out. Not sure if the front are for base? (has a sub under passenger seat so that seems weird) or if I have a couple of speakers that aren't working correctly. I adjusted the settings for audio on the touch screen and it made no difference. Anyone with the same set up that can confirm how your front door speakers work?

Thanks,

Mark

Do you have tweeters up by the dash? Maybe they have a crossover that send the lows to the door and highs to the tweeters.

The front door 6x9’s are a midrange speaker only. The higher freq’s go to the dash. The rear doors get a ‘full range’ (ish) signal and I’m not sure where the highs for the roof tweeters come from.

Go into your settings and hit surround sound. It sounds so much better...

That's incorrect.

The front door speakers are mid-bass.
The 3 speakers across the dash are mid-range.
The speakers in the back doors are full-range.
The speakers in the headliner are tweeters.
The subwoofer is under the rear seat, passenger side.

badtoejam is correct .. that's how FCA wired the amp..

Here's what I did to mine and it makes it much much better.. find the amplifier, should be behind the glove box depending on year model.. and rewire the rear speakers to drive the rear and front door speakers.. so you would cut the front wires coming out of the amp and then splice them into the rear door speakers..

I then replaced the door speakers with 3 way 6x9 and the front dash speakers with 2 way. If you still would like a little more bass I installed another amp in the back of the truck to drive a 10" pioneer sub
