questions about 02

ok i was thinking about getting a 02 cummins and someone told me that u can take them to the dealer and have them turned up to get more power... cuz stock they are only putting out like 265 stock or something like that.. any one heard of this? i have a buddy that did it to his kenworth but i didnt think u could do it to a diesel pick up...well let me know if this is true or not....

UNTRUE. Look at Cummins plate on left front of engine to find your HP.
IF it's a five speed or auto, it's actually possible, Chrysler released a performance PCM a while back, which cost 900 dollars and made about 50 hp...:doh:, but, it may or may not still be available...:confused013:

just do a good lift pump, like a FASS or AirDog, and a Fuel Pressure gauge, then get a Quadzilla Ad reline or Edge programmer, for all the power you'll probably ever need...:thumbsup:
It's got 245 if it's a 6-speed or 235 if it's a auto or 5-speed I think. But you can turn it up with a programmer or box (often referred to as a chip)

interesting, then if you got them to turn it up, would that mess with a chip you added? I wouldnt pay 900 for 50 hp, but some dont know any better

i read that on Dodge Ram Information a while back, so, i dunno if the thing is still made..

either way, a chip would be better:thumbsup:
