Question about Valair DD Organic

Just had the dealership put this clutch in my '07 3500 SRW. The pedal feels a lot firmer and the engagement not as smooth as my stock clutch.

Is this what's to be expected?

Reason I ask is that they had some problems putting it in and took twice as long. Probably the mechanic didn't have much experience with clutches, but I'm worried that something's gone awry.

That's all normal with any dual disk clutch, it will take a bit to get used to but will handle a lot more torque than the stocker. By the way is the clutch noisy any chatter at idle or anything? That's one thing that annoys me about sb but I haven't driven one with a valair

I got the quiet version, so it's not too bad. It's only 5th gear that I notice some gear noise.

I also got them to use Mobil 1 Delvac 50W and add 2 extra quarts via the shifter knob as per Valair's recommendation.

Hopefully straight Delvac 50 won't be too stiff in the morning up your way. I'm running 1 gallon of Delvac and three qts of Amsoil 5-30 synchromesh. It's stiff here awhile on surface streets until it warms up.

If I remember correctly it should have been less that 4 hours labor so it should have been max of $500.

Two shops here quoted me 6hrs w/hydraulics
