Put a 12 valve in a 2001

I just put a 12v in a 2001 24v truck and trying to get the tach to work how would I go about that

I believe you need to buy a gauge and a kit that uses the crank as a pickup.

My buddy had to do this same thing last year and the kits are expensive which sucks
