With 3.54 gears and a 5 spd manual, what size tires are better for pulling, 285s or 315s?

285's. For sure. 315's with 4.10's is a good one too.

I pulled a lot during 2006 with 4K GSK w/valve springs, 3.55 gears, & 305/70/16 Bridgestone Dueler A/T's NOT revo's.

3rd Gear Low range come out @ 4K on hard tracks and 35-3600 on loose ones...I've got a box full of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place trophies:thumbsup

DON'T go to 315's....I got started pulling in '05 with the same setup and 315's.....had plenty of top 10 finishes.:$::CRY:

I pull 3rd gear 4 hi..with 305/70/R16 BFG AT's and the 3.54 ratio. It's an overall good sized tire..the 285/75/R16 would be the second one. IMHO I definitely wouldn't go with the 315's because you're gonna need a lot to break them loose, and if you don't get them broke loose, better have the $$$
